I am a graduate of John Carroll High School, and have a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Central Florida. I have been involved in the health and fitness industry for 18 years. I was a certified aerobics instructor for 10 years and a certified personal trainer for 7 years. I have a passion for helping people become healthy in all areas of life; spiritually, mentally, socially, and physically. I also sponsor the Character Education program at John Carroll.

Tuesday 9/7 - Friday 9/10 We will be continuing our topic of Communication which includes conflict resolution and bullying. If you notice your child speaking to you with statements that share their feelings, tell you why they are upset, and present a solution to the problem - listen to them :)! They are trying to communicate more effectively with you. We are practicing "I Messages" and after a week of role playing and writing "I Messages" they will most likely attempt to use one on their own. A few specifics... Wed. 9/8 Journal entry #6. Discussion of different communication styles: Assertive / Passive / Aggressive along with a handout to practice comprehension of these styles (homework). Role play "I messages" They will also be given a handout to read at home. A brief 5 question quiz will be given Thursday. 4TH PERIOD JOURNALS COLLECTED TODAY. Thursday 9/9 - 5 question quiz. Discuss body language. Role play "I messages" with proper body language. Homework: finish reading handout and take the "take home quiz" due at the beginning of class Friday. Friday 9/10 - Guest speakers: Deputy Woodward and Deputy Barton. Topic: Dangers of cyber - bullying through computer and cell phone usage. PLANNER CHECK TODAY.
